How to calculate epoxy for a mold
For a rectangular mold, resin volume is length × width × depth. EpoxyCalc converts the result into litres and US gallons, then keeps your selected waste allowance separate from the raw geometric volume.
Measure the inside of the mold
Use internal dimensions, not the outside dimensions of the mold box. If the casting contains a large insert or object that displaces resin, subtract that displaced volume when you can measure it reliably.
Deep castings need the right resin
Required volume alone does not determine product suitability. Casting epoxies have different maximum pour depths, working times and temperature guidance. EpoxyCalc compares those manufacturer-published limits separately from the volume calculation.
Allow for practical losses
Mixing containers, tools, small leaks and irregular mold surfaces can all increase real consumption. Use the waste allowance control rather than assuming the geometric result is exactly what you should buy.
