Epoxy coverage per litre

Wet-film geometry is straightforward: 1 litre spread over 1 m² makes a 1 mm layer. The same litre theoretically covers 2 m² at 0.5 mm or 0.5 m² at 2 mm before losses. This relationship is useful for coatings, tabletops and other thin applications.

Epoxy coverage per kg

Kilograms measure mass, not volume, so there is no universal m²-per-kg number. A mixed epoxy density of 1.10 kg/L means 1 kg represents about 0.91 L. Change the density field to the value published for your product before using a mass-based coverage estimate.

Square feet per gallon

Imperial coverage follows the same geometry. The result depends on wet film thickness, so a gallon spread at a thin coating depth covers much more area than the same gallon used for a thicker layer. Switch EpoxyCalc to Imperial and enter thickness in mils to see the result in square feet.

Theoretical coverage versus manufacturer coverage

This calculator converts physical quantity into geometric wet-film area. A manufacturer may publish a lower practical coverage rate because the complete system includes substrate absorption, roller losses, aggregate, fillers, multiple coats or a specified application rate. Coverage is not the same as pour compatibility
